Leeds’s third University

Congratulations to my Alma Mater on becoming Leeds Trinity University (formerly Leeds Trinity University College, formerly Leeds Trinity and All Saints, formerly Trinity and All Saints University College, formerly Trinity and All Saints A College of the University of Leeds, formerly Trinity and All Saints College, originally Trinity and All Saints’ Colleges).

That’s about one name change every seven years!

It’s odd for me, having an undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree and a postgraduate diploma from all three institutions in Leeds – but only one is from an actual University, the other two being from a Polytechnic and a University College…

Presentation Night

The season’s over… the club’s over. All there is left to do is party.

Not as many photos as you may have been hoping for… for obvious reasons 🙂

I’d like to thank…

So anyway – the FA Women’s Awards…

Yes, Leeds Carnegie won, the Club Media Award. And nominated in the Marketing Award, and Jo got the Regional Media Award (for the work she did with us – many thanks).

But oh! The photographs were dreadful. I looked like a waxwork dummy. Not good at all, but perfectly illustrates why I’m better behind the camera than in front of it.

Still, getting a taste for it now, and aiming for a CIPR PRide Award next. Must win one eventually…

Forty Two

42 is, of course, the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Having said that 2009 might be a year to forget, it could just as easily be a year to remember, age-wise.

Happy birthday, me!

Waiting for Mister Moonlight

How fab are The Blow Monkeys?

Over 18 years since their last studio album was released, and they’re back. And playing a few, small gigs to promote the new one, including last night at The Leadmill in Sheffield, which is where I was with Chris & Sam.

Totally outstanding from start to finish, lots of singles, an album track or two for the devotees and some of the new ones to boot. And two encores, which seemed to catch a few people out.
