Despite still having this wretched cough, off I went this lunchtime to see the Ladies play Everton in the FA Women’s Cup semi-final. All the way to Southport; having been volunteered to give a friendly BBC producer/journalist a lift, my catholic guilt wouldn’t let me back out, rough though I was. And when was the last time I had female company for 90 minutes??

I had to wear a shirt and tie though, as I’d be watching the game from the Director’s Box, next to the media desks, and with coffee in the Board Room before, during and after the game.

Which we won! 5-4 on penalties, it being 0-0 after extra time. I even got to sit next to Hope Powell for the second half (not a sensible idea when trying to avoid the BBC camera). Though I did have to find my way home without my navigatrix… ho hum.

So next stop, Nottingham, on May Bank Holiday Monday, live on the BBC. I think an overnight stay and some first class train travel is in order 🙂
