Oh, wow! Leeds Carnegie Ladies – FA Women’s Premier League Cup winners!
All-told it’s been a hell of a fortnight. The call from Sue to say that Leeds Met were pulling their funding. The players in tears when Rick told them and the parents after the game the other week. Rochdale’s ground being slightly underwater at the start of the month. Only just losing to Arsenal in the FA Women’s Cup on Sunday.
Then today’s game in danger of being called off because of a frozen pitch – the bit in front on the main stand wasn’t getting enough sun. But we coped, and coped better than Everton did.
And this time I made much better use of the Access All Areas pass; I had six TASC students on their last week of placement with us at various parts of the ground (they still managed to fail to interview Hope Powell though), and when it got to 90 minutes I dragged Sue & Mel back through the stand and pitchside so we could run on to the pitch at full time. Except I didn’t run onto the pitch, I don’t do that sort of thing.
I did try and take some photos but this was the only one that came out – after the game, Sophie Walton with the cup. And of you’re wondering, it was a 3-1 win 🙂
