Far back in the mists of time, when I was a student on the MA European Studies, I took my first trip to Brussels with some of my coursemates. Enthused by this, I created a web site called Acquis, my first ever personal web site.

Of course, it never got off the ground, and only ever carried one article from someone else, but looking back at it, it was surprising how much time I had to devote to regularly updating it (even though it only lasted about a month). Ironically, back in September 2000, it was much harder to run a site like that, whereas now we have fabbo packages like WordPress – I just don’t have the time to!

That said… EGP is now two years old, but has always been about me. Perhaps it’s time for a bit of a re-think, and get back to those European ways… if I ever get the time…
